Since 2009, Tributo promotes design as a strategic tool to promote social, economic and cultural development by collaborating with artisanal communities in Mexico.

"Memoria y Creación Contemporánea" is a workshop designed by Laura Noriega of a documentary nature that forms a bridge of communication and containment of the material and immaterial wealth of the community inside and outside of it. The workshop is divided into 5 modules with different contents that were applied during the months of April to September 2018 to artisanal communities in the states of Nayarit and Veracruz.

The Artisans selected by Laura to participate in the state of Nayarit represent the following techniques and towns:

Waist Loom, Pochotitán. Basketry, Jomulco, Nayarit. Alfarería, Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit Saddlery, Compostela, Nayarit.

In the state of Veracruz, the Artisans selected to participate are members of the “Casa del Algodón” and “Casa del Corazón de la Madera” in CAI the Indigenous Arts Center in Tajin, Veracruz representing the following artisan techniques:

Waist Loom, CAI, Tajín, Veracruz. Wood Carving, CAI, Tajín, Veracruz Masks, CAI, Tajín, Veracruz “Penacho” making, CAI, Tajín, Veracruz Palm weaving, CAI, Tajín, Veracruz

One of the consequences of the workshop is the design of contemporary products that add value to the current production line and its production processes, concluding with new collections that will open opportunities to generate positive impacts in its economy.
